Say NO to Nylon Manja! Maulana Azad College of Arts, Science and Commerce conducted a two-day outreach and extension activity titled the "Nylon Manja Awareness Campaign" on 10th and 11th June 2026. Organized by faculty members Dr. Mujtaba Quadri and Dr. Shaikh Ifrah Fatema, the initiative aimed to sensitize students and the public to the severe legal, environmental, and safety hazards posed by synthetic kite strings. The first day featured a comprehensive classroom orientation detailing the structural dangers of nylon manja to human lives and avian populations. This was followed by a street-level awareness march on the second day through the Rauza Baug and CIDCO areas, where students displayed bilingual placards urging local residents and shopkeepers to boycott prohibited plastic variants in favor of eco-friendly cotton alternatives. The successful campaign highlighted the institution's ongoing commitment to community welfare, social responsibility, and the preservation of local biodiversity.
