The Department of Chemistry, Maulana Azad College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, Aurangabad, under the esteemed guidance of the Principal, successfully organized a one-day webinar on "Accelerating Equity in Science" on 11th February 2025. This event was conducted as part of the IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast 2025 in collaboration with the Association of Chemistry Teachers (ACT). The webinar aimed to highlight the importance of gender equity in science, fostering discussions on creating an inclusive scientific community. The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with a large number of students and teachers actively participated. Inaugural address was by Dr. Neha Agrawal, who highlighted the significance of equity in science and the role of initiatives like the IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast in fostering inclusivity and equal opportunities A thought-provoking guest lecture on "Equal Opportunity for Women in Science and Technology" was delivered by Dr. Shrikant Sadashiv Patil. His talk provided deep insights into the challenges faced by women in scientific careers and emphasized the need for policy reforms, mentorship, and institutional support to bridge gender disparities. The Convenor of the webinar, Dr. Syed Ummul Khair Asema, Associate Professor in Chemistry, played a pivotal role in organizing the event. The Organizing Secretary, Prof. Arif Pathan, Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Chemistry, contributed significantly to the seamless execution of the webinar. The Chairman of the webinar, Principal Dr. Mazahar Ahmed Farooqui, extended his support and encouragement, ensuring the success of this initiative.
