On 30th January 2025, under the directives of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, and based on the letter from the Joint Director of Higher Education, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a Selfie Booth was set up at Maulana Azad College of Arts, Science, and Commerce. This initiative was undertaken as part of the Women Development Committee (WDC) of the college to spread awareness about women's safety and empowerment and schemes for women under Ministry of women and child development. The event took place on 30th January 2025 at 11:30 AM in the college premises, in the presence of IQAC coordinator Dr. Aditi Bhattacharya, Incharge of WDC Dr. Ummul Khair Asema and the committee members. During the event, students were provided with detailed information on women's helplines, including Women Helpline (WHL): 181 Child Helpline (CHL): 1098 The session encouraged students to "Break the silence… Speak openly", emphasizing the importance of raising their voices against issues affecting women. Female professors and students actively participated in the event, taking selfies in the newly established Selfie Booth as a symbol of their commitment to women's empowerment. This initiative served as a platform for raising awareness about safety, support systems, and the importance of open dialogue on women's issues.
